Thin Mint Milk Shake is a thick, frosty dessert drink packed with chocolate mint cookies, creamy ice cream, and rich chocolate flavor. Tiny cookie pieces add a delicious crunch while cool mint balances the decadent chocolate base.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups vanilla or chocolate ice cream
  • 10 chocolate mint cookies, plus more for garnish
  • 1/2 cup whole milk, plus more as needed
  • 3 tablespoons chocolate syrup, plus more for serving
  • 1/8 teaspoon peppermint extract, optional
  • Whipped cream, optional
  • Crushed chocolate mint cookies, optional
  • Chocolate shavings, optional
  • Fresh mint, optional

Instructions

  1. Place the chocolate mint cookies in a blender and pulse several times until broken into coarse crumbs.
  2. Add the ice cream and whole milk to the blender.
  3. Add the chocolate syrup and peppermint extract, if using.
  4. Blend just until thick and creamy, avoiding over-blending so small pieces of cookie remain throughout the shake.
  5. Check the consistency and add a small splash of milk if the shake is too thick. For a thicker shake, add another scoop of ice cream.
  6. Taste and adjust the chocolate or mint flavor as desired.
  7. For a decorative presentation, drizzle additional chocolate syrup around the inside of two chilled serving glasses.
  8. Divide the shake between the glasses and top with whipped cream, crushed chocolate mint cookies, chocolate shavings, or fresh mint if desired.
  9. Serve immediately while thick and frosty.

Notes

  • Vanilla ice cream allows the chocolate mint cookies to stand out, while chocolate ice cream produces a richer chocolate flavor.
  • Add peppermint extract sparingly because its flavor can quickly become overpowering.
  • Thin Mints or another crisp chocolate-coated mint cookie can be used.
  • For an Extra Chocolate Thin Mint Milk Shake, use chocolate ice cream and add extra chocolate syrup or chocolate chips.
  • For a Mocha Mint Shake, add a small amount of cooled espresso or instant espresso powder.
  • For an extra-thick shake, reduce the milk and use additional firm ice cream or frozen milk cubes.
  • Serve immediately for the thickest texture because the shake will thin as the ice cream melts.
  • Leftovers can be frozen, softened briefly, and reblended with a small splash of milk.
