Taro Milk Bubble Tea is a creamy and colorful drink made with taro root, milk, sweetener, and chewy tapioca pearls. Known for its soft purple color and smooth nutty flavor, this café-style bubble tea is rich, refreshing, and easy to make at home.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked taro root, mashed
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar or honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup black tapioca pearls
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • Whipped cream (optional)
  • Extra taro cubes (optional)
  • Coconut flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the tapioca pearls according to the package instructions.
  2. Drain the pearls and mix them with brown sugar while still warm.
  3. Peel and cube the taro root, then steam or boil until tender.
  4. Mash the cooked taro until smooth.
  5. Add the mashed taro, milk, condensed milk, sugar or honey, vanilla extract, and ice cubes to a blender.
  6. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  7. Spoon the sweetened boba pearls into serving glasses.
  8. Pour the taro mixture over the boba.
  9. Add optional toppings if desired.
  10. Serve immediately with a wide straw.

Notes

  • Use coconut milk for a richer tropical flavor.
  • Freshly cooked boba pearls provide the best chewy texture.
  • Add brewed black tea for a stronger tea flavor variation.
  • Serve warm without ice during colder weather.
