A rich and flavorful compound butter infused with smoky notes and fresh chives, perfect for enhancing bread, vegetables, and grilled dishes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked salt or a few drops liquid smoke
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place softened butter in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add chopped chives, smoked salt or liquid smoke, minced garlic, lemon juice, and black pepper.
  3. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  5. Transfer butter onto parchment paper and shape into a log.
  6. Roll tightly and twist the ends to seal.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour until firm.
  8. Slice and serve as needed.

  • Use smoked salt for a natural smoky flavor.
