A light and elegant Italian cocktail made with fresh strawberry purée and sparkling wine, offering a refreshing and fruity flavor with a crisp bubbly finish.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled
  • 12 tsp sugar or simple syrup (optional)
  • 1 cup Prosecco or sparkling wine, chilled
  • Ice (optional, for chilling purée)

Instructions

  1. Wash and hull the strawberries, then blend until smooth to create a purée.
  2. Strain the purée through a fine sieve if a smoother texture is desired.
  3. Taste and add sugar or simple syrup if needed.
  4. Chill the purée in the refrigerator or over ice.
  5. Pour the purée into a champagne flute, filling about one-third.
  6. Slowly top with chilled Prosecco or sparkling wine.
  7. Stir gently and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use ripe strawberries for the best natural sweetness.
  • Straining is optional but improves texture.
  • Substitute sparkling water for a non-alcoholic version.
  • Add a splash of lemon juice for brightness.
  • Mix just before serving to maintain carbonation.
  • Store purée separately for up to 24 hours.
