Mushroom Pizza is a savory homemade pizza topped with sautéed mushrooms, melted mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese on a crisp golden crust. Perfect for pizza night, it delivers rich flavor with simple ingredients and easy preparation.

Ingredients

  • 1 pizza dough
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Fresh parsley or basil, for garnish
  • Optional: onions, spinach, bell peppers, or cooked sausage

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating.
  2. Lightly flour a work surface and roll out the pizza dough to your desired shape and thickness.
  3. Transfer the dough to a pizza pan, baking sheet, or pizza peel.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet and sauté the mushrooms for 4–5 minutes until lightly browned. Add the garlic during the last minute of cooking.
  5. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  6. Sprinkle most of the mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  7. Arrange the sautéed mushrooms evenly over the pizza.
  8. Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese.
  9. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  10. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  11. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.
  12. Garnish with fresh parsley or basil, slice, and serve.

  • Use cremini, button, portobello, shiitake, or oyster mushrooms for different flavor profiles.
  • Sauté mushrooms before baking to prevent excess moisture on the pizza.
