Mediterranean Chicken Patties are juicy and flavorful patties made with ground chicken, feta cheese, fresh herbs, and aromatic seasonings. Perfect for pita sandwiches, salads, grain bowls, or as a protein-packed main dish, they bring vibrant Mediterranean flavors to any meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely diced
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, feta cheese, parsley, dill, garlic, red onion, breadcrumbs, egg, oregano, lemon zest, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Mix gently until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  3. Divide the mixture into 8 small patties or 4 large patties.
  4. Refrigerate the patties for 15 to 20 minutes to help them firm up.
  5. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  6. Cook the patties for 5 to 6 minutes per side, or until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  7. Transfer to a plate and let rest for a few minutes.
  8. Serve warm with pita bread, salad, roasted vegetables, or your favorite Mediterranean-inspired sides.

Notes

  • Ground turkey can be substituted for ground chicken.
  • Add chopped spinach or sun-dried tomatoes for additional flavor and texture.
  • For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free breadcrumbs.
  • Serve with tzatziki, hummus, tahini sauce, or garlic yogurt sauce.
  • Cooked patties can be refrigerated for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
