Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons matcha powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until fully combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, matcha powder, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Stir in the white chocolate chips if using.
  7. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing into squares.
