Soft-boiled jammy eggs with rich, slightly runny yolks, finished with a drizzle of nutty toasted sesame oil. A simple yet flavorful dish perfect for breakfast, snacks, or toppings.

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes or chili oil (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of water to a gentle boil.
  2. Carefully lower the eggs into the water using a spoon.
  3. Cook for 6–7 minutes for jammy yolks with set whites.
  4. Transfer eggs immediately to a bowl of ice water and cool for a few minutes.
  5. Peel the eggs carefully and slice in half.
  6. Arrange on a plate and drizzle with toasted sesame oil.
  7. Season with salt and black pepper.
  8. Add soy sauce, chili flakes, and green onions if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Cool eggs quickly in ice water to stop cooking.
  • Use toasted sesame oil for the best flavor.
  • Store unpeeled eggs in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • Reheat gently in warm water if needed.
