A soft and fluffy giant chocolate scroll filled with rich cocoa and melted chocolate, baked into a beautiful spiral perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour
  • Warm milk
  • Sugar
  • Active dry yeast
  • Butter, softened
  • Egg
  • Salt
  • Chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
  • Cocoa powder
  • Brown sugar
  • Butter, melted
  • Vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour, softened butter, egg, and salt, then mix to form a soft dough.
  3. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  4. Roll the dough into a large rectangle on a floured surface.
  5. Spread melted butter over the dough, then sprinkle cocoa powder, brown sugar, and chocolate evenly on top.
  6. Roll the dough tightly into a log.
  7. Coil the log into a large spiral and place it on a lined baking sheet or in a baking pan.
  8. Cover and let rise again for 30–45 minutes.
  9. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  10. Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.

  • You can add chopped nuts like hazelnuts or walnuts for extra texture.
  • Add cinnamon or orange zest for flavor variations.
  • Drizzle with glaze or chocolate sauce for extra sweetness.
  • Store at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate up to 4 days.
