A creamy and velvety hummus made with butter beans for a mild, rich flavor and ultra-smooth texture. Perfect for dipping, spreading, or serving as part of a mezze platter.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups butter beans, cooked or canned and drained
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 24 tablespoons water (as needed)
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika or chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the butter beans, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, salt, and cumin in a food processor.
  2. Blend until smooth, adding water gradually until the desired creamy consistency is reached.
  3. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  4. Transfer to a serving bowl and drizzle with olive oil.
  5. Sprinkle with paprika or chili flakes and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
  6. Serve with bread, crackers, or fresh vegetables.

  • Blend longer for an extra smooth texture.
