Ingredients

  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons beef drippings or unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the beef drippings or butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring constantly, until a smooth roux forms.
  3. Slowly pour in the beef broth while whisking continuously to prevent lumps.
  4. Add the Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and garlic powder.

  6. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  7. Remove the gravy from the heat once it reaches the desired consistency.
