These Air Fryer Croissant Sandwiches with Pesto and Havarti are warm, flaky, and filled with creamy melted Havarti, savory deli meat, fresh vegetables, and fragrant basil pesto. They make a quick and satisfying lunch, dinner, or brunch with perfectly crisp croissants.

Ingredients

  • 4 large croissants, sliced in half
  • 8 slices Havarti cheese
  • 8 ounces sliced turkey or ham
  • 4 tablespoons basil pesto
  • 1 large tomato, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup baby spinach or arugula
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the croissants in half horizontally, leaving them hinged if desired.
  3. Spread about 1 tablespoon of basil pesto inside each croissant.
  4. Layer the sliced turkey or ham over the bottom half of each croissant.
  5. Place two slices of Havarti cheese over the meat.
  6. Add the tomato slices and baby spinach or arugula.
  7. Season lightly with black pepper and garlic powder if using.
  8. Close the croissants and brush the tops with melted butter if desired.
  9. Arrange the sandwiches in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them.
  10. Air fry for 4–6 minutes until the croissants are crisp and the cheese is melted.
  11. Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Homemade or store-bought basil pesto both work well.
  • Substitute smoked turkey, roast beef, grilled chicken, or ham for different flavors.
  • Swap Havarti with Swiss, provolone, mozzarella, or Gouda if preferred.
  • For a vegetarian version, use roasted vegetables and fresh mozzarella.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • Reheat in a 325°F (165°C) air fryer for 3–4 minutes until crisp and heated through.
