  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary for garnish

  2. Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush lightly with olive oil.
  3. Toast the bread for 8–10 minutes until golden and crisp.
  4. In a food processor or mixing bowl, combine the goat cheese, cream cheese, and a drizzle of olive oil.
  5. Blend or whip until smooth and creamy.
  6. Spread the whipped goat cheese generously onto each crostini.

Notes

  • Fresh ripe figs provide the best flavor, but fig preserves work well year-round.
  • Store the whipped goat cheese separately from the toasted bread to maintain crispness.
  • Prosciutto or crispy bacon can be added for a savory variation.
  • Swap figs with pears, apples, or apricot preserves for different flavor combinations.
  • Use gluten-free bread or crackers to make this recipe gluten-free.
  • Assemble the crostini just before serving for the best texture.
