Whipped Cherry Butter is a sweet, creamy spread made with cherries, butter, and a hint of vanilla. This smooth, airy butter adds a burst of fruity flavor to toast, muffins, pancakes, or scones.

Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/4 cup cherry preserves or jam
    2 tablespoons powdered sugar
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Ensure your butter is softened to room temperature.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat the butter with an electric mixer or stand mixer on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the cherry preserves, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt (if desired). Continue to beat for 2-3 minutes until the mixture is light, fluffy, and fully incorporated.
  4. Taste and adjust the sweetness or cherry flavor by adding more powdered sugar or preserves if needed.
  5. Serve immediately, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Let the butter come to room temperature before serving for the best spreadable consistency.

Notes

  • For a fresh cherry flavor, use pureed, strained fresh cherries instead of preserves.
  • Add cinnamon or lemon zest for extra flavor.
  • You can substitute honey for powdered sugar for a more natural sweetness.
  • This butter can be frozen for up to 2-3 months, just thaw it before using.
  • Whipped cherry butter makes a great filling for cakes and pastries as well!
