Watermelon Slushie is a refreshing frozen drink made with sweet watermelon, ice, and a splash of fresh lime juice for the ultimate summertime treat. Naturally hydrating and bursting with fruity flavor, it’s perfect for hot afternoons, pool parties, and backyard barbecues.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups seedless watermelon, cubed and chilled
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 12 tablespoons honey or simple syrup (optional)
  • 68 fresh mint leaves (optional)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Watermelon wedges, for garnish
  • Lime slices, for garnish
  • Fresh mint sprigs, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cut the watermelon into cubes and remove any seeds if necessary.
  2. For a thicker texture, freeze the watermelon cubes for 2-3 hours before blending if desired.
  3. Add the watermelon, ice cubes, lime juice, honey or simple syrup if using, mint leaves, and a pinch of salt to a high-speed blender.
  4. Blend until completely smooth and slushy.
  5. Taste and adjust the sweetness or lime juice as needed.
  6. Pour the slushie into chilled glasses.
  7. Garnish with watermelon wedges, lime slices, and fresh mint sprigs.
  8. Serve immediately while icy and refreshing.

Notes

  • Use frozen watermelon instead of ice for a thicker, more flavorful slushie.
  • Add strawberries, pineapple, mango, or cucumber for delicious flavor variations.
  • Swap mint for fresh basil or add grated ginger for a unique twist.
  • Blend with a splash of coconut water for extra hydration.
  • Store in the freezer for up to 2 hours and re-blend before serving if needed.
  • Freeze leftovers in popsicle molds for a refreshing frozen treat.
  • If the watermelon is very sweet, you may not need additional sweetener.
