Turkey Panini is a warm and crispy pressed sandwich filled with sliced turkey, melted cheese, and flavorful toppings. This café-style sandwich is easy to make at home and perfect for quick lunches, dinners, or satisfying snacks.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices ciabatta, sourdough, or panini bread
  • 8 slices deli turkey
  • 4 slices provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise or pesto
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1/4 cup spinach leaves
  • 2 tablespoons butter or olive oil
  • Bacon (optional addition)
  • Avocado (optional addition)
  • Red onions (optional addition)
  • Dijon mustard (optional addition)

Instructions

  1. Preheat a panini press or skillet over medium heat.
  2. Spread mayonnaise or pesto on one side of each bread slice.
  3. Layer turkey, cheese, tomato slices, and spinach onto two slices of bread.
  4. Add optional toppings if desired.
  5. Top with the remaining bread slices.
  6. Brush the outside of the bread lightly with butter or olive oil.
  7. Place the sandwiches into the panini press and cook for 4 to 6 minutes until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  8. If using a skillet, press the sandwich down gently with a heavy pan and flip halfway through cooking.
  9. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before slicing.
  10. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use smoked turkey for deeper flavor.
  • Add cranberry sauce for a holiday-inspired variation.
  • Cheddar or Swiss cheese can be used instead of provolone.
  • Roasted peppers or caramelized onions add extra richness.
  • Whole grain bread creates a heartier sandwich.
  • Reheat leftovers in a skillet or air fryer for best texture.
  • Avoid microwaving to keep the bread crisp.
