Toasted Ravioli is a crispy and flavorful appetizer made with breaded ravioli cooked until golden brown and crunchy on the outside while remaining tender inside. Served with marinara sauce and topped with Parmesan cheese, this easy dish is perfect for parties, snacks, or casual dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 package cheese or meat ravioli
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Olive oil spray or frying oil
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the ravioli according to package instructions until just tender, then drain and allow to cool slightly.
  2. Prepare three shallow bowls with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Coat each ravioli in flour, then egg, and finally the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Arrange the breaded ravioli on a tray or plate.
  5. Preheat the oven, air fryer, or frying oil to 375°F.
  6. Cook the ravioli for 8 to 10 minutes, turning if needed, until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove carefully and drain excess oil if frying.
  8. Sprinkle with extra Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley if desired.
  9. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Panko breadcrumbs create extra crunch.
  • Cheese, beef, sausage, or spinach ravioli all work well.
  • Air frying is a lighter alternative to frying.
  • Alfredo sauce, pesto, or ranch dressing are delicious dipping options.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat in the oven or air fryer.
  • Do not overcook the ravioli before breading to prevent bursting.
