Thai Milk Tea Boba is a creamy and refreshing drink made with bold Thai tea, sweetened milk, and chewy tapioca pearls. This homemade bubble tea delivers the classic sweet and rich flavor found in popular tea shops.

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons Thai tea mix
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup tapioca pearls (boba)
  • 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup evaporated milk or whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar, optional
  • 2 cups ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan.
  2. Add the Thai tea mix and steep for 3 to 5 minutes according to package directions.
  3. Strain the tea and allow it to cool slightly.
  4. Stir in the sweetened condensed milk and evaporated milk until fully combined.
  5. Taste and add additional sugar if desired.
  6. Cook the tapioca pearls according to the package instructions.
  7. Drain the pearls and rinse lightly if recommended.
  8. Toss the cooked boba with a small amount of sugar syrup to prevent sticking.
  9. Fill two serving glasses with ice cubes.
  10. Spoon the tapioca pearls into the glasses.
  11. Pour the prepared Thai milk tea over the ice and boba.
  12. Stir before drinking and serve immediately with a wide boba straw.
