Taco Casserole with Doritos is a cheesy, layered casserole featuring seasoned ground beef, crunchy Doritos, creamy sauce, and melted cheese. This easy family-friendly dish combines taco flavors with comforting casserole goodness for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • ⅔ cup water
  • 1 can (10 ounces) diced tomatoes with green chilies
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 bag (9.25 ounces) Nacho Cheese Doritos, lightly crushed
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Chopped tomatoes, for garnish
  • Shredded lettuce, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until browned and fully cooked.
  3. Drain excess grease and stir in the taco seasoning and water.
  4. Simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened.
  5. Stir in the diced tomatoes with green chilies.
  6. In a separate bowl, combine the condensed cream of chicken soup and sour cream until smooth.
  7. Spread half of the crushed Doritos in the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  8. Layer half of the beef mixture over the Doritos.
  9. Spread half of the sour cream mixture over the beef.
  10. Sprinkle half of the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese over the top.
  11. Repeat the layers with the remaining Doritos, beef mixture, sour cream mixture, and cheese.
  12. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until hot and bubbly.
  13. Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  14. Garnish with green onions, chopped tomatoes, and shredded lettuce.
