Sweet Thai Chili Chicken Wings are crispy, juicy wings coated in a sticky glaze that perfectly balances sweet, tangy, and mildly spicy flavors. They’re ideal for parties, game days, or an easy family dinner.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings, separated into flats and drumettes
  • 1 tbsp baking powder (for baked wings)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 cup sweet Thai chili sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven, air fryer, or prepare oil for frying. Pat the chicken wings completely dry.
  2. Toss the wings with the baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  3. Bake, air fry, or deep fry the wings until they are crispy, golden brown, and fully cooked, about 35 minutes if baking.
  4. Meanwhile, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  5. Stir in the sweet Thai chili sauce, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and lime juice until well combined.
  6. Simmer the sauce for 2 to 3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  7. Toss the hot cooked wings in the sauce until evenly coated.
  8. Garnish with sesame seeds, sliced green onions, and chopped cilantro if using.
  9. Serve immediately while hot and sticky.
