Ingredients

  • sweet potatoes
  • heavy cream
  • milk
  • garlic
  • butter
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Peel and thinly slice sweet potatoes.
  3. In a saucepan, gently heat cream, milk, garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg without boiling.
  4. Grease a baking dish with butter.
  5. Layer sweet potato slices, slightly overlapping.
  6. Pour some cream mixture over the layer.
  7. Repeat layering until all ingredients are used.
  8. Finish with a top layer of cream and small pieces of butter.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
  10. Remove foil and bake for another 20 to 25 minutes until golden and tender.
  11. Let rest briefly before serving.
