Strawberry Pretzel Parfait is a layered dessert that combines crunchy buttery pretzels, creamy vanilla filling, and fresh strawberries for the perfect balance of sweet and salty flavors. It’s an easy make-ahead treat that’s ideal for parties, picnics, or family desserts.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups pretzels, crushed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups whipped topping or freshly whipped cream
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, diced
  • 1/4 cup strawberry preserves or strawberry sauce (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves, optional for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the crushed pretzels with the melted butter and brown sugar until evenly coated.
  3. Spread the mixture onto a baking sheet and bake for 8–10 minutes until lightly toasted. Let it cool completely.
  4. Beat the cream cheese until smooth, then mix in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract.
  5. Gently fold the whipped topping or freshly whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until light and fluffy.
  6. Dice the fresh strawberries and set aside.
  7. Layer the pretzel crumble, cream cheese filling, and strawberries in serving glasses.
  8. Repeat the layers until the glasses are full.
  9. Top with extra strawberries, additional pretzel crumble, and a drizzle of strawberry preserves or sauce if desired.
  10. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Keep the pretzel crumble separate until serving if you want it to remain extra crunchy.
  • Freshly whipped cream can be used instead of whipped topping for a richer flavor.
  • Fresh strawberries provide the best texture, but thawed and drained frozen strawberries may be substituted.
  • Use gluten-free pretzels to make a gluten-free version.
  • Store assembled parfaits covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Do not freeze.
