Ingredients
Strong brewed coffee or cold brew, chilled
Ice cubes
Fresh strawberries
Milk
Heavy cream
Granulated sugar or simple syrup
Vanilla extract
Pinch of salt, optional
Freeze-dried strawberry powder, optional
Instructions
Brew the coffee ahead of time and refrigerate until completely chilled, or use prepared cold brew.
Wash and hull the fresh strawberries, then blend them until smooth.
For an extra-smooth cold foam, strain the strawberry purée through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the seeds.
Combine the strawberry purée with cold milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar or simple syrup, vanilla extract, and an optional pinch of salt.
Froth the mixture with a handheld milk frother until creamy and airy. A small blender or immersion blender can also be used.
Fill a tall glass generously with ice cubes.
Pour the chilled coffee or cold brew over the ice, leaving enough room at the top for the strawberry cold foam.
Gently spoon or pour the strawberry cold foam over the coffee to create a thick, creamy layer.
Finish with optional freeze-dried strawberry powder or finely crushed freeze-dried strawberries.
Serve immediately, gradually stirring the strawberry foam into the coffee while drinking.
Notes
Use ripe, naturally sweet strawberries for the strongest berry flavor and color.
Keep the milk and heavy cream very cold to help the mixture froth into a light, creamy foam.
Do not add excessive strawberry purée, as too much fruit and liquid can make the foam thin.
Thawed frozen strawberries can replace fresh strawberries. Drain excess liquid before blending.
For stronger coffee flavor, use two chilled espresso shots and adjust with a splash of cold water or milk.
Add extra vanilla or vanilla syrup for a strawberry vanilla variation.
Add chocolate syrup to the glass or coffee for a chocolate-covered strawberry variation.
For a dairy-free version, use a creamy barista-style plant milk and plant-based whipping cream.
Store leftover strawberry cold foam covered in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours and re-froth before serving.
Strawberry purée can be prepared ahead and refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
