Ingredients

  • 1 medium green cabbage (cut into wedges or shredded)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 clove garlic (optional, minced)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cabbage by cutting it into wedges or shredding it.
  2. Bring a pot of water to a simmer and place a steamer basket over it.
  3. Add the cabbage to the steamer basket, cover, and steam for 8–10 minutes until tender but still slightly crisp.
  4. While the cabbage steams, melt the butter in a small pan over low heat.
  5. Stir in lime juice, lime zest, and garlic if using.
  6. Transfer the steamed cabbage to a serving dish.
  7. Drizzle the lime butter over the cabbage.
  8. Season with salt and black pepper, then toss gently to coat.
  9. Serve immediately.
