Flaky puff pastry spirals filled with a creamy spinach and feta mixture, baked until golden and crisp. These savory bites are perfect for appetizers, snacks, or entertaining.

Ingredients

  • Puff pastry sheets
  • Fresh or frozen spinach, thawed and drained
  • Feta cheese, crumbled
  • Cream cheese, softened
  • Garlic, minced
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. If using frozen spinach, ensure it is fully thawed and squeezed dry.
  3. In a bowl, mix spinach, feta, cream cheese, garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
  5. Spread the spinach mixture evenly over the pastry.
  6. Roll the pastry tightly into a log and slice into 1–2 cm rounds.
  7. Place spirals flat on the tray and brush with beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden and puffed.
  9. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Add mozzarella or parmesan for extra cheesiness.
  • Include sun-dried tomatoes or olives for variation.
  • Substitute feta with goat cheese if desired.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in oven at 180°C (350°F) for best texture.
  • Freeze unbaked spirals and bake directly from frozen.
