Spaghetti Tacos are a playful fusion of Italian and Mexican-inspired comfort foods, featuring tender spaghetti and savory meat sauce tucked into crispy taco shells. Topped with melted cheese and fresh herbs, they make a fun and satisfying family meal.

Ingredients

  • 12 taco shells
  • 12 ounces spaghetti
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley or basil, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the spaghetti according to the package directions until al dente.
  2. Drain the pasta and toss it with a small amount of marinara sauce to prevent sticking.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Cook the ground beef or sausage with the diced onion until browned and fully cooked.
  5. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Stir in the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  7. Simmer for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
  8. Warm the taco shells according to package directions.
  9. Fill each taco shell with a portion of spaghetti.
  10. Spoon the meat sauce over the spaghetti.
  11. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  12. Garnish with fresh parsley or basil and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use meatballs instead of ground beef for a spaghetti-and-meatballs variation.
  • Substitute sautéed mushrooms or plant-based crumbles for a vegetarian version.
  • Add red pepper flakes for extra heat.
  • Try Alfredo sauce instead of marinara for a creamy variation.
  • Top with ricotta cheese for added richness.
  • Store spaghetti and sauce separately from taco shells to maintain crispness.
  • Refrigerate leftovers for up to 4 days or freeze the spaghetti and sauce for up to 3 months.
