Sliding Sheet Pan Nachos are a fun and crowd-pleasing appetizer loaded with crispy tortilla chips, melted cheese, seasoned meat, beans, and fresh toppings. The parchment-lined sheet pan makes serving easy by allowing the nachos to slide directly onto a platter.

Ingredients

  • 1 large bag tortilla chips
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup corn kernels
  • 1 jalapeño, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup sliced green onions
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 avocado, diced or mashed into guacamole
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Salsa

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or turkey until browned.
  4. Drain excess fat if needed.
  5. Stir in the taco seasoning and water, then simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  6. Spread a layer of tortilla chips evenly across the prepared sheet pan.
  7. Sprinkle half of the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese over the chips.
  8. Add half of the seasoned meat, black beans, corn, and jalapeños.
  9. Repeat the layers with the remaining chips, cheese, meat, beans, corn, and jalapeños.
  10. Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted.
  11. Remove from the oven and let cool for 2 minutes.
  12. Carefully slide the parchment paper and nachos onto a serving platter or board.
  13. Top with tomatoes, green onions, sour cream, avocado, cilantro, and salsa.
  14. Serve immediately.

  • Use sturdy tortilla chips to support the toppings without breaking.
  • Add fresh toppings after baking to keep the chips crisp.
  • Substitute shredded chicken, steak, or plant-based protein for the ground meat.
  • Pepper jack or Colby Jack cheese can be used for additional flavor.
