Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha or 1 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, for garnish
  • 2 green onions, sliced, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a large sheet pan with parchment paper or foil.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, honey or brown sugar, sriracha or chili flakes, and cornstarch until smooth.
  3. Add the sliced beef to the sauce and toss until evenly coated.
  4. Place the broccoli florets on one side of the sheet pan and drizzle with olive oil, salt, and black pepper, tossing to coat.
  5. Arrange the marinated beef on the other side of the sheet pan in an even layer.
  6. Roast for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the beef is cooked through and the broccoli is tender with lightly crispy edges.
  7. Remove the pan from the oven and gently toss the beef and broccoli together in the sauce.
  8. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

  • Slice the beef thinly against the grain for the most tender texture.
  • Chicken, shrimp, or tofu can be used instead of beef.
  • Add bell peppers, snap peas, or carrots for extra vegetables.
  • Reduce the sriracha or chili flakes for a milder dish.
  • Serve with rice, noodles, or cauliflower rice if desired.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in a skillet for the best texture, or use the microwave for convenience.
  • Use gluten-free soy sauce to make the recipe gluten-free.
