Sautéed Garlic Green Beans are a quick and flavorful side dish featuring crisp-tender green beans enhanced with aromatic garlic and buttery richness, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

  1. 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
    2 tablespoons unsalted butter or olive oil
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    Salt, to taste
    Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
    Optional: lemon juice or zest for brightness, red pepper flakes for heat

Instructions

Bring a pot of salted water to a boil.

  1. Add green beans and blanch for 2-3 minutes until bright green and slightly tender.
  2. Drain and transfer immediately to ice water to stop cooking; drain and pat dry.
  3. In a large skillet, melt butter or heat olive oil over medium heat.
  4. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, avoiding burning.
  5. Add green beans and toss to coat in garlic butter.
  6. Cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently, until heated through and slightly crisp.
  7. Season with salt, pepper, and optional lemon juice or red pepper flakes.
  8. Serve warm.
