Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh asparagus, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and trim the asparagus by snapping off the woody ends.
  2. Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the asparagus and sauté for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender-crisp.
  4. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Finish with lemon juice and sprinkle with parmesan if desired.
  7. Serve immediately.
