Salmon Burgers are juicy and flavorful patties made with fresh salmon, herbs, and simple seasonings. These tender burgers are a lighter alternative to traditional beef burgers while still being satisfying and packed with savory flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh salmon, skin removed
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley or dill, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Burger buns
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato slices
  • Red onion slices
  • Tartar sauce or mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Cut the salmon into chunks and place it in a food processor.
  2. Pulse a few times until the salmon is finely chopped but still slightly chunky.
  3. Transfer the salmon to a mixing bowl.
  4. Add breadcrumbs, egg, mayonnaise or Greek yogurt, Dijon mustard, green onions, parsley or dill, garlic, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Mix gently until combined.
  6. Form the mixture into 4 equal patties.
  7. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  8. Cook the salmon patties for 4 to 5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  9. Toast the burger buns if desired.
  10. Assemble the burgers with lettuce, tomato, onion, and sauce.
  11. Serve warm.
