Ingredients
2 large heads broccoli, cut into florets
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup tahini
1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 garlic clove
2 to 4 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
Toss the broccoli florets with olive oil, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
Spread the broccoli in a single layer on a baking sheet.
Roast for 20 to 25 minutes, turning halfway through, until the edges are browned and slightly crispy.
Meanwhile, combine the tahini, basil, lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, salt, and 2 tablespoons of water in a blender or food processor.
Blend until smooth and creamy, adding more water as needed to reach the desired consistency.
Transfer the roasted broccoli to a serving platter.
Drizzle the basil tahini sauce over the broccoli or serve it on the side for dipping.
Notes
Top with toasted sesame seeds or chopped almonds for added crunch.
Add roasted chickpeas to make the dish more filling.
Roast cauliflower or Brussels sprouts along with the broccoli for variety.
Mix fresh parsley into the sauce for extra herb flavor.
Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes for heat.
Store the broccoli and sauce separately in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat the broccoli in the oven or air fryer and serve with the sauce chilled or at room temperature.
