This Pumpkin Spice Sauce Latte is a cozy coffeehouse-style drink made with rich espresso, creamy milk, and a smooth homemade pumpkin spice sauce. It’s easy to make at home and perfect for enjoying the warm flavors of fall.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 shots freshly brewed espresso or 1 cup strong coffee
  • 2 cups milk of choice
  • Whipped cream (optional)
  • Extra pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine the pumpkin puree, brown sugar, maple syrup, vanilla extract, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, salt, and water in a small saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the sauce is smooth and slightly thickened.
  3. Brew the espresso or strong coffee.
  4. Heat and froth the milk until creamy.
  5. Stir the pumpkin spice sauce into the hot espresso until fully combined.
  6. Pour in the steamed milk and gently spoon the foam over the top.
  7. Top with whipped cream, if desired, and garnish with a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon before serving.

Notes

  • Use canned pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling.
  • Oat milk creates an especially creamy dairy-free latte.
  • Add caramel syrup for extra sweetness or a pinch of nutmeg and cloves for more spice.
  • Store leftover pumpkin spice sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
  • Warm the sauce before making additional lattes.
  • For an iced version, chill the coffee and serve over ice with cold milk.
