Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter or oil
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 tsp cloves
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • For the honey glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, brown sugar, eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined without overmixing.
  5. Spoon or pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about three-quarters full.
  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the donuts spring back lightly when touched.
  7. Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for several minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  8. To make the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar, honey, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  9. Dip the cooled donuts into the honey glaze and place them back on the rack to set.
  10. Serve fresh and enjoy.
