Pretzel Turtle Bites are bite-sized sweet-and-salty treats made with crunchy pretzels, gooey caramel, toasted pecans, and rich chocolate. They’re quick to make and perfect for holiday trays, homemade gifts, or satisfying a chocolate craving.

Ingredients

  • 24 mini pretzel twists or pretzel snaps
  • 24 soft caramel candies, unwrapped
  • 24 pecan halves
  • 24 milk chocolate candy melts or chocolate kisses
  • Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Arrange the pretzels in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Place one caramel candy on top of each pretzel.
  4. Bake for 4 to 5 minutes, just until the caramel softens.
  5. Press a pecan half gently into each softened caramel.
  6. Immediately place a chocolate candy or a spoonful of melted chocolate on top of each pecan.
  7. Allow the chocolate to soften from the residual heat, or return the baking sheet to the oven for about 1 minute if needed.
  8. Gently press the chocolate into place and sprinkle with flaky sea salt if desired.
  9. Cool completely at room temperature or refrigerate for about 20 minutes until the chocolate is firm.

Notes

  • Use pretzel snaps for a sturdy, flat base.
  • Substitute dark chocolate, white chocolate, or your favorite chocolate candy for variety.
  • Replace pecans with walnuts, almonds, or cashews if desired.
  • Decorate with crushed toffee bits or festive sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
  • Freeze for up to 3 months and thaw at room temperature before serving.
