Pineapple Smoothie is a thick, creamy, and refreshing tropical drink made with frozen pineapple, banana, Greek yogurt, and juice or milk. It comes together in minutes for an easy breakfast, snack, or cool warm-weather drink.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1 ripe banana, preferably frozen
  • 1/2 cup plain or vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 3/4 cup pineapple juice, orange juice, or milk
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup, optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, optional
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes, optional
  • Fresh pineapple wedges for serving, optional

Instructions

  1. Pour the pineapple juice, orange juice, or milk into the blender first to help the blades move easily.
  2. Add the frozen pineapple chunks and banana.
  3. Add the Greek yogurt. Use plain yogurt for less sweetness or vanilla yogurt for a sweeter smoothie.
  4. Add honey or maple syrup if additional sweetness is desired. Add the optional vanilla extract and ice cubes for extra flavor and a frostier texture.
  5. Blend on high speed until completely smooth and creamy. If the smoothie is too thick, add a small splash of liquid and blend again. If it is too thin, add more frozen pineapple.
  6. Pour into two glasses and serve immediately, garnished with fresh pineapple wedges if desired.

Notes

  • Frozen fruit creates the thickest, coldest smoothie without requiring much additional ice.
  • For a pineapple coconut smoothie, use coconut milk as the liquid and add a little shredded coconut.
  • For a pineapple mango smoothie, replace some of the pineapple with frozen mango chunks.
  • For a strawberry pineapple smoothie, blend frozen strawberries with the pineapple.
  • Add a handful of baby spinach for a green pineapple smoothie.
  • For a banana-free version, replace the banana with additional frozen pineapple, mango, or Greek yogurt.
  • Fresh pineapple can be used, but frozen banana or additional ice will help maintain a thick, cold texture.
  • For a yogurt-free smoothie, omit the yogurt and use coconut milk, regular milk, or non-dairy milk, reducing the liquid as needed.
  • Store leftovers in a tightly covered container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours and stir or shake well before drinking.
  • Leftover smoothie can be frozen in ice cube trays and later blended with a little juice or milk.
