Philly Cheesesteak Sliders are a delicious, bite-sized twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak. These sliders feature tender beef, sautéed onions, and melted cheese, all tucked into soft, buttery slider buns, making them a perfect snack or appetizer for any occasion.

Ingredients

  1. 1 lb thinly sliced beef (ribeye or sirloin works best)
    1 large onion, thinly sliced
    1 tbsp olive oil
12 slider buns (Hawaiian rolls or soft dinner rolls work well)
    8 oz provolone cheese, sliced
    1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
    1 tbsp soy sauce (optional)
    1/2 tsp garlic powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp black pepper
    4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
    1 tsp dried oregano (optional)

Instructions

Cook the beef and onions: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and cook for 5-7 minutes until softened and caramelized. Add the sliced beef, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce (if using), garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5-7 more minutes until the beef is browned and cooked through. Remove from heat and set aside.

  1. Prepare the sliders: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the slider buns horizontally, keeping the top and bottom halves together. Place the bottom half in a baking dish or on a baking sheet.
  2. Assemble the sliders: Layer the beef and onion mixture on the bottom half of the buns. Top with provolone cheese slices, and then place the top half of the buns on top.
  3. Butter the buns: Brush the top of the buns with melted butter and sprinkle with dried oregano (optional).
  4. Bake the sliders: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, remove the foil and bake for another 5 minutes, or until the tops are golden and the cheese is melted.
  5. Serve: Let the sliders cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Spicy Philly Cheesesteak Sliders: Add sliced jalapeños or hot sauce to the beef mixture for extra heat.
  • Vegetarian Philly Cheesesteak Sliders: Use mushrooms or plant-based beef substitutes for a vegetarian version.
  • Cheese Variations: Try mozzarella, cheddar, or American cheese for different flavor profiles.
  • Storage: Store leftover sliders in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Reheating: Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes or until heated through and the cheese is melty again.
