Peanut butter brownies are rich, fudgy chocolate bars swirled with creamy peanut butter for the ultimate sweet and salty treat. They’re chewy on the edges, gooey in the center, and simple to make with basic pantry staples.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (warmed slightly)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan or microwave-safe bowl. Stir in granulated and brown sugars until smooth.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until fully combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of warmed peanut butter over the top and swirl gently with a knife or skewer to create a marbled effect.
  8. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Let brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into 16 squares.

Notes

  • Use chunky peanut butter for added texture.
  • Add chocolate chips or chopped nuts for variation.
  • Let brownies cool fully for clean slices.
  • Natural peanut butter can be used but may affect texture slightly—stir well before adding.
  • Store at room temp, refrigerate, or freeze depending on needs.
