Original tater tot hotdish is a classic comfort food casserole with a creamy beef and vegetable filling topped with crispy golden tater tots. It’s hearty, easy to make, and perfect for family dinners or gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 bag (about 32 oz) frozen tater tots

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and onion until browned; drain excess fat.
  3. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Stir in cream of mushroom soup, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  5. Add frozen mixed vegetables and mix well.
  6. Transfer mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  8. Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer on top.
  9. Bake for 35–40 minutes until tater tots are golden and crispy.
  10. Let rest a few minutes before serving.
