Omelet in a Bag is a quick and customizable breakfast where eggs and favorite toppings are cooked in a sealed bag for a fluffy, mess-free meal. Perfect for busy mornings, camping trips, or feeding a crowd with easy cleanup.

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheese
  • 1/4 cup cooked bacon, ham, or sausage
  • 2 tablespoons diced bell peppers

  2. Crack the eggs into a large resealable freezer-safe bag.
  3. Seal the bag and gently squeeze until the eggs are fully beaten.
  4. Open the bag and add cheese, cooked meat, vegetables, salt, and black pepper.

  7. Carefully place the sealed bag into the boiling water.
  8. Cook for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the eggs are fully set and fluffy.
  9. Remove the bag from the water using tongs and let cool slightly.
  10. Carefully open the bag and slide the omelet onto a plate.
  11. Serve warm with hot sauce or additional toppings if desired.

Notes

  • Use only BPA-free freezer-safe resealable bags designed for hot food preparation.
  • Multiple omelet bags can cook at the same time in one pot.
  • Cheddar, Swiss, mozzarella, and pepper jack cheese all work well.
  • Prepare the bags ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to cook.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Serve with toast, fruit, hash browns, or muffins for a complete breakfast.
