Ingredients

  • For the muffins: 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line or grease a 12-cup muffin pan.
  2. Whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon in a large bowl.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  5. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and melted butter to make the cinnamon swirl.
  6. Fill each muffin cup halfway with batter, add a spoonful of the cinnamon mixture, then top with more batter.
  7. Use a toothpick or skewer to gently swirl the cinnamon mixture into the batter.
  8. Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool the muffins in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  10. Whisk together the glaze ingredients and drizzle over the slightly warm muffins before serving.
