- 4 slices bread
- 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme or parsley, chopped

- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp cream or 1/4 cup grated cheese (optional)
- 1 tsp lemon juice (optional)
- Clean and slice the mushrooms evenly.

- Add mushrooms and cook for 8–10 minutes until they release moisture and begin to brown.
- Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Season with salt, black pepper, and herbs.
- Add cream or cheese if desired and stir until combined.
- Toast the bread slices until golden and crisp.
- Spoon the sautéed mushrooms over the toasted bread.
- Finish with a squeeze of lemon juice if desired and serve immediately.
