Mozzarella Sandwich is a warm and cheesy sandwich filled with creamy mozzarella, fresh vegetables, and flavorful seasonings toasted between crispy golden bread slices. This simple and satisfying sandwich is perfect for quick lunches, light dinners, or easy snacks.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices bread
  • 6 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 1 small tomato, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons butter or olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pesto sauce (optional addition)
  • Spinach leaves (optional addition)
  • Balsamic glaze (optional addition)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional addition)

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  2. Butter one side of each bread slice or brush with olive oil.
  3. Place two slices of bread butter-side down onto the skillet.
  4. Layer the mozzarella cheese evenly over the bread.
  5. Add tomato slices and fresh basil leaves.
  6. Season lightly with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  7. Add optional pesto or spinach if desired.
  8. Top with the remaining bread slices with the buttered side facing outward.
  9. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes until the bread is golden brown.
  10. Carefully flip the sandwiches and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is crisp.
  11. Remove from the skillet and let cool slightly before slicing.
  12. Serve warm.
