Mini Medianoche Sandwiches are sweet and savory Cuban-inspired sliders layered with roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard on soft sweet rolls. They’re warm, melty, and perfect for parties, lunch, or an easy family meal.

Ingredients

  • 12 mini sweet rolls
  • 12 oz roasted pork, sliced or shredded
  • 8 oz deli ham
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese
  • 24 dill pickle slices
  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Optional: extra mustard for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the mini rolls in half horizontally, keeping them connected if possible.
  3. Place the bottom halves of the rolls in a baking dish.
  4. Spread the mustard evenly over the rolls.
  5. Layer the roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, and pickle slices over the rolls.
  6. Place the top halves of the rolls over the filling.
  7. Mix the melted butter with the garlic powder and brush over the tops of the rolls.
  8. Cover loosely with foil and bake for 10 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for 5 more minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are lightly golden.
  10. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use turkey instead of ham for a lighter variation.
  • Provolone, mozzarella, or mild cheddar can replace Swiss cheese.
  • Add mayonnaise for a creamier sandwich.
  • Mix smoked paprika into the butter topping for extra flavor.
  • Add jalapeños or spicy mustard for heat.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Freeze tightly wrapped sandwiches for up to 2 months.
  • Reheat uncovered in the oven or air fryer for the best texture.
