  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 oz goat cheese
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries, chopped
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions or chives
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Crackers or pretzel sticks for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, and goat cheese.
  2. Add chopped dried cranberries, orange zest, honey, green onions, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Mix until all ingredients are evenly combined.
  4. Cover the mixture and refrigerate for about 20–30 minutes to firm slightly.
  5. Scoop small portions of the cheese mixture and roll them into bite-sized balls.
  6. Roll each cheese ball in chopped pecans or walnuts until fully coated.
  7. Arrange the mini cheese balls on a serving platter.
  8. Insert pretzel sticks if desired for easy serving.
  9. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Sharp cheddar provides the boldest flavor, but mild cheddar can also be used.
  • Chilling the cheese mixture before rolling helps prevent sticking.
  • Pistachios, almonds, or fresh herbs can replace pecans or walnuts.
  • Use maple syrup instead of honey for a deeper sweetness.
  • Store the cheese balls in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • Allow them to sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes before serving for the best texture.
