Matcha Tiramisu is a light and creamy Japanese-inspired twist on the classic Italian dessert, featuring matcha-soaked ladyfingers layered with a velvety mascarpone filling. It’s an elegant make-ahead dessert with the perfect balance of sweetness and earthy green tea flavor.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons matcha powder
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (optional)
  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar

  • 24 ladyfinger cookies
  • 1 tablespoon matcha powder, for dusting
  • White chocolate shavings (optional)
  • Fresh strawberries (optional)
  • Fresh raspberries (optional)
  • Mint leaves (optional)

Instructions

  1. Whisk the matcha powder with the hot water and optional sugar until smooth. Let it cool completely.
  2. Beat the mascarpone cheese until smooth and creamy.
  3. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  4. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone until fully combined.
  5. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled matcha mixture.
  6. Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a serving dish.
  7. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture evenly over the ladyfingers.
  8. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  9. Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight.
  10. Dust generously with matcha powder and garnish with white chocolate shavings, berries, or mint before serving if desired.
