Ingredients

  • Coarse sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the flour, matcha powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  2. Cream the softened butter and powdered sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
  5. Shape the dough into a log or disk, wrap tightly, and refrigerate for 1 hour until firm.
  6. Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  7. Slice or roll out the chilled dough and cut into desired shapes.
  8. Arrange the cookies on the prepared baking sheets, leaving a little space between each one.
  9. Bake for about 15 minutes, until the edges are just beginning to turn lightly golden.
  10. Cool completely before decorating with white chocolate or other optional toppings if desired.
