Marry Me Chicken is a rich and comforting dish featuring tender pan-seared chicken breasts simmered in a creamy parmesan sauce with sun-dried tomatoes and herbs. This restaurant-quality recipe is easy enough for weeknights yet elegant enough for special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning.
  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear the chicken breasts for 4 to 5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  5. Stir in the chopped sun-dried tomatoes and cook for 1 minute.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  7. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream and parmesan cheese until smooth.
  8. Add the red pepper flakes and simmer gently until the sauce slightly thickens.
  9. Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the top.
  10. Simmer for about 10 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  11. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Chicken thighs can be used instead of chicken breasts for extra juiciness.
  • Add spinach or mushrooms for additional flavor and texture.
  • Serve over pasta, mashed potatoes, or rice for a complete meal.
  • Use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for a lighter sauce.
  • Increase the red pepper flakes for a spicier version.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Freeze for up to 2 months, though the cream sauce may slightly separate when reheated.
