This classic Margarita is a bright and refreshing cocktail made with tequila, fresh lime juice, and orange liqueur. Perfectly balanced between sweet and tart, it’s an easy drink for parties, celebrations, or relaxing evenings.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces tequila
  • 1 ounce orange liqueur
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup or agave nectar
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime wedge
  • Coarse salt or Tajín seasoning
  • Lime wheel or wedge, for garnish (optional)
  • Orange slice, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Run a lime wedge around the rim of a margarita glass.
  2. Dip the rim into salt or Tajín seasoning.
  3. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  4. Add the tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, and simple syrup.
  5. Shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds until well chilled.
  6. Fill the prepared glass with fresh ice.
  7. Strain the margarita into the glass.
  8. Garnish with a lime wheel, lime wedge, or orange slice if desired.
  9. Serve immediately.

  • Use freshly squeezed lime juice for the best flavor.
  • For a frozen margarita, blend the ingredients with 1 cup of ice until smooth.
