A mango smoothie is a creamy, refreshing tropical drink made with sweet mango, yogurt, and milk. Ready in just minutes, it is perfect for breakfast, a quick snack, or a naturally fruity treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen mango chunks
  • 1 cup plain or vanilla yogurt
  • 1/2 cup milk, plus more as needed
  • 12 teaspoons honey or maple syrup, optional
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes, optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, optional
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice, optional

Instructions

  1. If using fresh mango, peel it and cut the flesh into chunks. Frozen mango can be added directly to the blender.
  2. Add the mango chunks, yogurt, and milk to a blender.
  3. Taste the mango and add honey or maple syrup if additional sweetness is desired.
  4. Add the optional vanilla extract for a softer, dessert-like flavor or fresh lime juice for extra brightness.
  5. If using fresh mango, add the optional ice cubes for a colder and thicker smoothie. Ice can usually be omitted when using frozen mango.
  6. Blend on high speed until completely smooth and creamy.
  7. Check the consistency. Add a little more milk for a thinner smoothie or additional frozen mango for a thicker texture.
  8. Taste and adjust the sweetness or lime juice as desired.
  9. Pour into glasses and serve immediately while cold and creamy.

Notes

  • Frozen mango produces an especially thick and cold smoothie without diluting the mango flavor with extra ice.
  • For a mango banana smoothie, add one ripe or frozen banana for additional sweetness and creaminess.
  • For a tropical variation, add pineapple and replace some or all of the milk with coconut milk.
  • Strawberries or raspberries can be blended with the mango for a sweet-tart berry variation.
  • For a dairy-free version, use plant-based yogurt and milk. Coconut yogurt and coconut milk pair particularly well with mango.
  • For a more filling breakfast smoothie, add rolled oats, chia seeds, or nut butter before blending.
  • The smoothie tastes best immediately after blending but can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 24 hours. Shake or stir well before serving.
  • For longer storage, freeze the smoothie in ice cube trays and later blend the frozen cubes with a splash of milk.
